About Me

The Whole Life Story

Hey there, I’m Sean Smith, a proud born and raised Vancouverite with a passion for real estate and a penchant for taking the scenic route through life. Let me spin you a tale from Burnaby to the world of business, one renovation at a time.

Born and Raised in Burnaby:

Before I was born, my parents bought the fixer upper of all fixer uppers on a third of an acre in South Slope Burnaby. Back in the day, their choice was all about a central location—though, truth be told, there wasn’t much for the bicycle dependent adolescent to do other than go to Metrotown or make your own entertainment. But I must admit, almost every skill I have today can be attributed to growing up in that house. A third of an Acre, a house built in the 70’s, and unlimited access to Dad’s workshop full of tools (the more dangerous, the better) was the kicking off point for my obsession with building and design. Once I traded in the super cycle for a 1990 Volvo 240 wagon, my understanding and appreciation for my parent’s location decision was finally realized. Burnaby would soon blossom into the vibrant community it is today.

High School Adventures at Vancouver College:

When it was time for High school I was given three options, and my parents let me pick. Vancouver College was my third choice, so naturally that's where they told me I was going. I’ve seen videos of Navy Seal training, and this wasn’t it, but we all would have told you otherwise until graduation. Jokes aside, those high school days were what moulded me. Hard work, ethics, and respect weren’t just expected, they were demanded, and the camaraderie formed there with my closest friends remains unbreakable to this day. We survived together, a band of brothers forged in the crucible of academia.

UBC – A Journey with a Few Detours:

My journey through UBC resembled a scenic route, with a few detours and pit stops along the way. From the lush landscapes of forestry to the artsy alleys of economics, I gave nearly every faculty a test drive. Eventually, I found my groove in the world of business, realizing that numbers and I could coexist peacefully.

Summers of Sweat and Renovation:

While my classmates and friends got desk jobs, or worse yet, took extra classes, my summers were not going to be spent indoors if there was anything I could do about it. I started a business and strapped on a tool belt, renovating, roofing, and painting houses across the North Shore and Vancouver. Those hands-on experiences not only built character but also a deep understanding of business, sales, and the craftsmanship that goes into creating a home.

Real Estate Journey:

In 2013, I took a bold leap into the world of real estate. Getting my license opened doors to a career I haven’t looked back since. Guiding clients through the intricacies of buying and selling homes has become my passion, and I’m committed to making every real estate transaction as smooth as possible.

Family, North Vancouver, and the Dogs:

Between closing deals and exploring the world of real estate, you’ll find me calling North Vancouver, Moodyville specifically, home. I share this beautiful corner of the world with my stunning bride-to-be Kara (probably already a bride by the time you’re reading this—I’m busy selling houses, not updating my website) and our dynamic duo of doggos—Thomas the Bernedoodle and Stanford the Yorkshire Terrier. Stan might be pint-sized, but he’s earned the reputation of the “toughest” dog in Moodyville. Together, we navigate the joys of North Shore living and the adventures that come with it.

Beyond the Brochure:

Real estate isn’t just about transactions; it’s about connecting with people and helping them find a place they can call home. My approach is a blend of local knowledge, a love for architecture, and a commitment to providing personalized service to every client.
